Ethernet EVB Component Diagram

Each of the two complete Ethernet nodes contains its own real-time scripting engine. Using Vehicle Spy software, you can download example scripts to demonstrate Automotive Ethernet concepts. The board contains an Ethernet tap device to allow you to monitor all Ethernet communications between the nodes. Each node contains two LEDs, a pushbutton and a potentiometer that are available to scripts you create within Vehicle Spy. The board also includes two CAN nodes.

Single Board Experiments

In single board experiments, the board is powered from USB and the two Ethernet nodes communicate with each other using the supplied cable. This simple topology allows many experiments to be performed, such as simulating client/server data exchanges.

Switched Environment

Ethernet EVBs can also be used as test nodes with an Ethernet switch. Here two Ethernet EVBs are connected to a Broadcom BroadR-Reach® switch to create a typical Automotive Ethernet network.
